Foreword by Managing Director


SGT Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd established the long outstanding reputation as superintendent and fumigator in Thailand for more than a decade. The way we conduct ourselves to our valuable customers, clients, business partners and each other is essential both to our personality and to ensuring the effectiveness of the operation of the SGT Service (Thailand).

  Our core values -integrity and Ethic, Independence and Impartiality, Fairness and Respect, and Environmental Responsibility reflected the relationship between organization and our respected customers.  With our reinforcement of unity and cohesion, our company finally reached the first “Code of conduct” as the requirement standard of the International Federation of Inspection Agencies (IFIA) in October 2010.

  As one of the Thailand’s leading superintendent, it is important that we all operate to the highest standards of conduct.  The way we do and how we behave as individuals obviously stand up to customer expectation.

  The code of conduct sets the standards for the way we do our work and support us to maintain our good reputation.  This helps to guide us as principles and rules for the company upon the aim of growth and development along with relationships and trust of clients.  

  Accordingly, all of our employees must perform with the code of conduct and actively sustain its principles and rules to preserve and enhance the company reputation as a socially responsible corporation.  The whole organization is responsible to follow the compliance as the vital point of our business process. 

  As the result, we consider that any violation that breaking any part of the Code of Conduct rules is a serious matter which finally damage to our renown.

  While the principles by which we conduct our behavior remain constant, the environment we work constantly changes. To insist in our standard, I therefore urge you to refresh your understanding of the Code of Conduct by carefully read, learn and implement the Code of Ethics principles and rules. Please keep it for reference.

Purpose of the Code

This Code brings together the key standards and principles to control the behavior of members of staff, and others acting on the SGT’s behalf. The module code is designed to protect and strengthen our reputation and reflect our values.

Applicability of the Code

This Code of Ethics applies to all members of staff of SGT Service. 

Compliance with the Code

The code is SGT Service policy which all members of staff are required to follow.  A breach of the Code can lead to disciplinary action. The breach will be investigated before any disciplinary action is taken.

Managing director and other heads of unit at senior management level are accountable for overseeing compliance with the Code.  Line managers are obviously responsible for ensuing that day to day practice and behavior are consistent with the principles and rules set out in the Code.

Apparently, the code cannot anticipate all situations.  Thus, we should follow its principles when dealing with a matter that may not be expressly covered and remember that guidance is available in the first instance from managers, or in Essential HR on the intranet.

Receipt of the Code

Please read this booklet and make sure you understand it.  If you are in doubt about meaning of any part of the, you should consult directly to your line manager or Human Resources who capable to provide guidance.


The Principles

1. Integrity

SGT Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd. operates in a professional, independent and impartial manner in all its activities.

SGT Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd. carries out its work honestly and shall not tolerate any deviation from its approved methods and procedures. Where approved test methods make provision for tolerances in results, the Member shall ensure that such tolerances are not abused to alter the actual test findings.

SGT Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd. reports data, test results and other material facts in good faith and shall not improperly change them, and shall only issue reports and certificates that correctly present the actual findings, professional opinions or results obtained.

2. Conflicts of interest

SGT Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd. avoids conflicts of interest with any related entity in which it has a financial or commercial interest and to which it is required to provide services.

SGT Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd. avoids conflicts of interest between the Member's companies and/or divisions engaged in different activities but which may be providing services to either the same client or each other.

SGT Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd. ensures that its employees avoid conflicts of interest with the activities of the company.

3. Confidentiality

SGT Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd. treats all information received in the course of the provision of its services as business confidential to the extent that such information is not already published, generally available to third parties or otherwise in the public domain.

4. Anti-bribery

SGT Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd. prohibits the offer or acceptance of a bribe in any form, including kickbacks on any portion of a contract payment.

SGT Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd. prohibit the use of any routes or channels for provision of improper benefits to, or receipt of improper benefits from, customers, agents, contractors, suppliers, or employees of any such party, or government officials.

5. Fair marketing

SGT Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd. only presents itself and conduct marketing, including any comparisons with or references to competitors or their services, in a manner that is truthful and not deceptive or misleading or likely to mislead.

-          We cooperate to policy of Department of Agriculture of Thailand to reduce fumigant that effect to environment.



Applicable Rules


1. Integrity

-           SGT Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd provides full guidance for all employees in dealing with customers who expect SGT to make the best effort to obtain reliable results.

-           In respect of all business sectors concerned with SGT Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd and the applicable IFIA Technical Committee, SGT shall be carried out honestly in a professional, independent, and impartial manner with no influence tolerated with respect to any deviations.


2. Conflicts of Interest

-           In order to avoid conflicts of interest, SGT Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd should refrain such situations which may influence the judgment.

-           It is vital for SGT to be independent and report any commitment or link which may create a potential conflict of interest. SGT’s policy provides guidance to employees in order to avoid conflict of interests between:

(i)    SGT and any related entities in which SGT has involved a financial or commercial interest and to which it is required to services; and

(ii)  SGT’s companies and /or divisions involved in different activities but which may be providing services to either the same client or each other.


-           The regulation of SGT is imposed that SGT’s employees shall not:

(i)    To offer a job to a family, friends, relatives, supplier, or competitor of SGT without first having obtained approved.

(ii)  Take any position with a competitor or customer.

(iii) Conduct any company business with any member direct or indirect with any member of their family or with an individual or organization with which they or their family is associated.


3. Confidentiality

-           All information acquire in the course of provision directed concern to our services must be treated as, and must remain, strictly confidential, subject to authorized publicize.

-           According to a condition of employment contract, all SGT’s employees are required to sign a “Non-Disclosure Agreement which prohibited the disclosure of any confidential business information that may obtain during the course of their employment to the others parties.

-           SGT assure that all parties including, intermediaries  joint venture partners, subcontractors, contractors, agents, and suppliers will definitely aware of the confidential nature of the business information that may handle through their dealings with SGT, and this is enforced not disclose confidential information of clients to other parties.


4. Anti-Bribery rules

-           SGT categorically refuse all forms of bribery and prohibit the offer of gifts or the giving or acceptance of a bribe in any form, direct or indirect, including kickbacks, the use of funds or assets for any unethical purposes and the use of other routes or channels for provision of improper benefits from our customers, agents, contractors, suppliers and government officials.

-           SGT assure that the Principles and Rules of its programme meet the requirement  of the IFIA compliance Code and local& international anti-bribery laws in all jurisdictions in which SGT operates.

-           In case of the local laws specify additional or different requirements that’s not cover by the scheme, SGT modifies accordingly its programme for the country concerned.

-           SGT shall monitor certain specific operations such as political contributions, charitable contributions and sponsorship. Stipulates designated levels for charitable contributions and sponsorships must be approved. Accounts for all political contributions made by SGT shall be approved and recorded in a separate general ledger account. SGT ensure to maintain books and records which properly and fairly document all financial transaction.

-           SGT’s Policy is that facilitation payments are discouraged and only made when absolutely necessary. The payment is appropriately accounted to the demander of the facilitation payment with a clear and non-discretionary obligation to perform task.

-           SGT assure that the offer or receipt of gifts, hospitality or expenses do not influence a contractual or material transaction and serve as an inducement to act in breach of duty. SGT sets limits on the value of gifts, hospitality or expense that may be given without special authorization from SGT’s Compliance Committee. SGT’s employees must be cleared with general criteria for the compliance of gifts, hospitality and expenses as following:


(i) Made for the right reason:

The gift or entertainment should be given clearly as an act of appreciation or genuine business intent.

(ii) Without obligation:

The gift, entertainment or expense does not place the recipient under any obligation.

(iii) Manage Openly:

Made the expense openly as if made secretly then the purpose might be suspect.

(iv) In accordance with stakeholder perception:

The transaction would not be viewed unfavorably by key stake holders if it were made known to them.

(v) Reported:

The expense or gift must be recorded and reported to management level.

(vi) Reasonable value:

The size of the gift should be compact or the value of the entertainment accords through general business practice.

(vii) Legal:

The transaction must be made to the laws of the country.

(viii) In conformance with the recipient’s rules:

The gift or expense on entertainment shall conform to code of conduct of the receiving organization.

(ix) Infrequent:

Both of giving or receiving of the items never frequently happen between SGT and concerned party.


5. Fair Marketing

-           SGT is committed to competing fairly and in compliance with the applicable laws. Severe civil and criminal sanctions can be imposed if the antitrust laws are infringed by companies and their management

-           SGT provides guidelines to employees, agents and intermediaries to ensure that they understand and adhere to the Business Ethics & Compliance Principle governing Fair Marketing.

-           SGT’s presentations and publications accurately and unambiguously reflect SGT’s network and affiliations, resources/ capabilities, experience and services provided.

-           SGT shall not intentionally denigrate, libel, or slander competitors when approaching with customers, nor entrust ourselves to offer a service which SGT is unable to provide, or claim that we are accredited for any specifically service without checking first.
